M4YA Plays: My Grandmother's Tchotchkes
"STUART PIMSLER is the founder and Artistic Co-Director of the internationally recognized Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theater (SPDT)- www.stuartpimsler.com. As a director, choreographer, writer, performer and teacher, his work has been presented in hundreds of cities across more then 30 States including The Guthrie, The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the National Civil Rights Museum, Jacob’s Pillow, the American Dance Festival, Dance Theater Workshop among many others. Internationally, the Company has toured to Canada, Europe, Israel, Taiwan, Russia, Bermuda, China and Mexico.
New work commissions include The Guthrie for The Ends of Love and Tales from the Book of Longing, SteppingStone Theater for My Grandmother’s Tsotchkes: Tales of a Gambling Grandmother, the American Embassy in Mexico, the Roberto Cantoral Cultural Center, the Mexican National Center for the Arts and Fiestas del Pitic for El Duro (The Wall) and Cinco de Junio (June 5th) as well as from the Lila Wallace Arts Partners Fund, National Performance Network, the Jerome Foundation the Wexner Center and the Walker Art Center.
